Horspath at Work
Here are some captured moments from the daily life of our school.
Harvest Festival. Our donations were joined with those from the church and taken to the local food bank.
Macmillan Coffee Morning - setup, organised and led by this group of children, who received high praise for their level of service to the guests.
Remembrance at the Horspath Village memorial. Our children took their place in the service with reading and laying wreaths. Afterwards, school council were invited back to the hub to talk with members of the community. We invited the village community to school for our VE Day celebration in the style of a street party.
Christingle
Christmas at St Giles' Church
We visited Christchurch for The Big Spring Sing and our Year 6 attended the leavers' service.
Our KS2 children took part in The Big Summer Sing organised by Oxfordshire Music Service.
First came the afternoon rehearsal with the other schools taking part, followed by tea and changing into colourful tops for the performance.
Ready for the evening performance to an audience including some parents.
Our amazing PTA have organised family breakfasts for each class throughout the year.
A visit from the fire service to talk about their jobs and fire safety. We have also had visits from PC Ben.
One of our children in Acorn Class decided that fire safety was the role for him.
Our PTA organised a colour raffle to raise money. Each class was assigned a colour. Mrs Courtney decided to represent every colour. Each Friday, parents are invited to join us for our celebration worship.
Horspath Extravaganza - organised in conjunction with St Giles' Church and hosted at school. Funds raised were divided equally between the school and the church.

World Book Day

Geography
Learning about other countries.
Learning about climate around the world and exploring flooding. Science and DT skills were also used to attempt to build flood safe homes. The moment of truth was when they were tested using a watering can to create a flood of rushing water beneath the models.

RE
The Oxford Dialogue Society visited us to present key beliefs from a selection of religions. they then told the story of the chickpea, using recipe analogies to talk about how tolerance and mutual respect build an incredible society where everyone has their own identity but works together superbly, mixing to form the perfect blend.
